60007 Sir Nigel Gresley at Larpool

Some shots of the 2nd run into Whitby of the 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley, May the 4th (be with you), 2008.

This was the 2nd day where the Gresley took the 12 noon service from Pickering to Whitby, there are no more planned Gresley runs into Whitby due to the sharp curves in Network Rail's line along the River Esk. The shots show the outward trip tender first (from the Larpool Viaduct) and then head fist return trip with the viaduct in the background.

I had a couple of problems: The flat ligthing conditions and the faithful Canon 10D failing to save an image just after the Gresley came under the viaduct, thus missing the shot I was seeking.
